I need to make a static squeeze page for my wordpress blog for my
aweber newsletter that's just for the front page without columns or a sidebar.

There going to be getting a free ebook for signing up to my
    newsletter.

Whats the best way to set this up for both the squeeze page and
also the download for the ebook.

After they subscribe I'm going to have a 1 column theme with categories
    on the right side.

You might want to check out wp affiliate pages dot com (run all those together. No, it's not my site). Sounds like the sort of thing you're looking for. ;)

If you wan to create good squeeze pages and use aweber as well then I suggest you use Optimise Press. It is great and easy to use.
