How do I insert more ads in my video?

When I had my last channel, YouTube used to let me manually insert ads in videos over 10 minutes long. Now, it only lets me turn "Monetize ads" on and off.

Example: If a video was 13 minutes long, I could insert ads at 1:02, 3:10, 5:39, 7:11, 9:00, 10:50, and 12:00 for example. I can't do that anymore for whatever reason.

I have over 10,000 channel views, but currently less than 100 subscribers.

It could be the whole boycott youtube ads stuff, they dont have enough ads now. By the way what happened with the boycott stuff? Where can i look how are the things and to know when it potentually goes to normal?

I don't think this excuse or problem can always be applied to many of these situations.

There are videos that are over 40 minutes long and have over 30 advertisements in them. Some of these videos are even uploaded by channels with under 500 subscribers. How can they do they able to do this?
