Hey everybody,
I have a blog that is currently monetized with Adsense.
As of writing this, it has an average CTR of around 0.78%

My traffic mostly comes from the USA and European countries.

I use the Adinserter plugin to display ads. Auto Ads are enabled. The ads are placed one before the content, one after the image (which is in the upper fold) and the remaining one in the middle of the blog. On the desktop, I have enabled one ad after the content.

Is there any room for improvement here? Secondly, how do I get CTR up to 1-1.5%?

Make sure you have a good landing page for your product, service or offer.
Understand what type of bidding strategy you’re using and how that can affect your CTR.
Do research on your target demographic.
Understand what the end goal of your offer is.

A low CTR means that your visitors aren’t interested in what your ads are about. Adsense is showing them ads that it (wrongly) assumes they want to see. Given that you have no sway over that, there sadly isn’t much you can do.
I guess that making sure that you have a great landing page could help by encouraging visitors to dig around more (and thus be exposed to more ads), but any benefits you will gain from that will be minor. As @Ibster has said, your audience and niche determine the ads that will be displayed.

You can place a script that will force users to click on the ads.

Jokes aside - you can't increase CTR as you have no control over this. Whether the user will click on an ad or won't it depends if the ad is relevant to this specific user or not, and this is controlled by the advertiser and his targeting. The ads displayed on your site depend on many things as users previous browsing history, interests, social media, etc.

1% CTR is not bad, actually good and industry norm. As long as the ads have good visibility - you shouldn't worry about CTR too much. You should worry about it when it's high.
