But can't you take the java source code and pop it in Android Studio to make a whole new set of apk files? I assume that is how it would work because the UI design is just drag and drop and then you type in the Java or Kotlin code in main_activity.aab files

Evidently there is a whole ecosystem focusing on that within the software industry. You don't have to reuse all of it either or in fact any of it. get the c# codes and re-coding in your unity3d editor.. it takes time to make a single working game.
