After editing my articles for KW density and content, I've been able to hit page 2 of Google based on content alone. I've had zero backlinks/social signals. My domain is fairly new, so my PA/DA is nonexistent. Is it possible to hit page one at this rate based on content alone? My on page SEO is a lot better than my competitor's, but I feel like they're still beating me because they actually have established PA/DA ranks higher than my pages.

How can I raise my PA/DA manually? I've tried looking for related high PA/DA sites to comment on, but their comments are either blocked, manual approval, or Facebook comments. I really don't have to budget to invest in buying high DA niche links at the moment, so is there another way to go about this?

The only other thing I can think of is the amount of amazon affiliate links I have on each article. Would having too many be a problem? Is there some sort of guideline I can follow regarding outbound links?

For the moment leave everything as it is for a few days. Just add fresh content, do the keywords and tags for that new content also and share your articles on social media platforms. Give it a bit of time to become popular and only after think about outbound links. Good luck!

Silo the page you want to push. Write closely-related articles and make only one link out from each to your main page. But maybe that's how you are ranking already?

May I ask how many searches per month is the keyword you're targeting?

fresh content will get you there , yes it will take time but the results will be long term :) stick to it hope you will reach 1st page soon

Cut down on the amount of amazon affiliate links and start finding related forums to post in, forum links have done wonders for me lately!

I'll have to revisit the silo structure again.

I'm going for long tail keywords pulling in around 250-500 exact matches monthly.

I was reading about forum links last night, and looks like it's time to start building some. Glad to hear it's worked out for you!
