build a facebook page/twitter arround it and add people to it. try updating them from time to time to get them interested. Also use video sites like youtube and others to posts video updates.

    you'll get noticed.

Say that your cat is dying of cancer and needs money to travel to China to reunite with a Panda it feel in love with in a Zoo but the Zoo is closing down unless you raise money to save the Zoo which supports the homeless who also volunteer to fight fires for the socially challenged.

    Real hit on Kickstarter.

I have had a personal twitter and fb fanpage for years now for my online persona and that's about 200 each lol. Not nearly enough. I am going to make a youtube video today however.

Go to popular forum and post a link to your project with refferal id, like this:

    Code:
    http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/650996578/cheese-and-crack?aff_id=757
People will notice you're trying to make money on their back, and request that you remove the referral id. Well, do it, that will make everybody happy. :)

    Hi,

I have invested into several Kickstarter projects, knowing they will succeed.

As for your Teknue site - it is the technology news snippet site you are developing, similar to Slashdot (please correct me if I'm wrong).

In order for your site has the real standout compared to other thousands me too technology based news sites, you may want to add the credentials to your site, such as the pictures of editors with description, etc...to make your site bit more personalized, connecting to the readers. Plus, you may want to add "Contact us" menu, to allow everyone to contact you for comments, suggestions, etc. (like Steve Jobs who answered emails personally).

And, yes, you may want to move Subscribe and RSS to top right corner, making it easy for the visitors to come back.

    Hope my suggestion is helpful.
