What do you mean with post viral videos?
How do I do that?
Also, any recommendations for engagement groups? How do they work?

Use hashtags that have 2k to 10k posts so your posts can stay up for a while, because if you are using the ones that have more than 50k your post will disappear in sec.

Engagement groups are only good if you're niche bro. For example a travel niche. These are groups of other accounts whos in the similar or same niche who comments and likes each other photo when someone from the group posts a new photo.
How to find them?
The way I normally find them is by looking on the comments on other photos, these comments are usally short for example: awesome, nice views, nice colours etc... I would then message those accounts asking if they are in an engagement group which I will get invited to.
Engagement group can be hosted on Instagram itself or sometime they host them on telegram also. Maybe do a search in Telegram for Engagement group and see what you find

Consistent posting, also engage with your followers. Respond to comments, maybe even send personalized audio DM to each follower thanking them for following etc .... All of these little details will help increase engagement and spread the word of your ig account.

The others are giving you the right answers. Take them to heart. Use the search function of the forum. Read the sticky post of this subforum.
You could start by literally reminding people to follow in your captions.
Give people a reason to comment. This doesn't have to be a question. If you start asking "what's your favorite type of X fitness product" don't be surprised if you get very few answers. What makes *you* comment on people's posts in your personal life?
Engagement groups are not a substitute for doing all the other tasks that must be done to grow organically. Those tasks have already been clearly stated by the others here.
Spend an hour looking at the biggest accounts in fitness. Study them in detail. Spend an hour looking at the medium-size accounts in fitness. Even look at the small accounts with really high engagement. What are they doing that you are not? What are they doing differently than each other? Can you do what they are doing? If you can't copy it exactly, can you adapt it to something you *can* do?
I believe in you! But you have to accept that growing organically is not easy. It isn't just posting every day and leaving a few comments. It's work and skill, with a hint of luck.

Make sure it makes your followers want to engage, both visual and copy wise, post with your niche hashtags

You guys seem to get away from the main point...
A follower is someone who wants to see your content and thats what you have to aim for. Find a niche, find your target audience, get in their shoes - what they like, dislike and so on and create content for them. thats it
