So I have been trying to get my first couple ORM clients for a long while now. I don't do the type of ORM in the 7878 method. I do things like pushing down rip off report, complaintsboard, negative articles and mugshots. What's the best and cheapest way to get my first client? I have a lot of experience in this field and I know I can do a good job. My website is good, phone is available but doing seo by myself for that keyword would be a chore and not worth it. How can I build my portfolio even further so I can reinvest into my business?

hey I really don't take that much to get your site to bring in clients if u get your site seo and social media marketing going it can areally take off and It don't take long some people even get there in as much as a week pm so we can talk about this I would like to help

Find a prospect that clearly needs your services. Call them or walk in to their office. Show them the cost of lost business due to the negative search results. Present your solution. Close the deal.

ORM is considered by many as a high-value but low demand product. Since business owners generally do not see the benefit of the almost perfect ratings online (especially the traditional ones), you have to explain to them the benefits and the potential gains from your service. I recommend letting them see figures/numbers on loss vs gain including the cost of your services. After that, let them in a free trial to show you can deliver the results and then close the deal. :)

ughhh some reason i can't stand reputation management it doesn't work, the ripoffs come back, even if you push it down it will come back, there urls change and update all the time, all it takes is one person to make a new comment to push that back up

it is proven not to work, but that can't stop you from collecting money, but why? just look google "reputation.com review"

why not make the neg rip offs yourself then call the company and then take them down? is that ethical?

No disrespect, but I think it's unfair to state that "its proven not to work', when it has been working for quite a lot of users here (including myself).

Maybe the owner should start caring their customers to avoid more rip-off complaints? Or maybe he should also start encouraging users to leave positive reviews?

It doesn't work in every country, let me put it that way. Only way of knowing is by finding out. Send out some letters and you'll know :).

Agree! Why not to hire anyone who can do that job? Offer % per each client!

Are you not pushing these negative reviews down by SEO'ing other sites/properties? If so, I don't understand your "doing seo for yourself" comment, it really wouldn't be that difficult if you're selecting the right kw's and if you have enough exp. to bump the reviews down with good SEO practices on other sites/properties then it wouldn't take you long.

1) Pick any niche. Preferably one with good budgets (lawyers, car dealerships, Doctors, etc)
2) Start in any geographical area (Lawyers in Chicago)
3) Search niche (Doctors in Los Angeles). Hint: if they are on the first 2-3 pages of Google for that term, there is a good chance they already spend money with their online marketing.
4) Put master file together for each niche.
5) Search (Name of business/person + review/scam). If they have just one ROR or other complaint, boom instant lead.
6) Prepare a script for either email or call potential clients.
7) Do your own sales calls or work out commission structure with sales person.
8) Profit?

so then what do you do when you get it off the first page of google, then in a few days or weeks it comes back. When the client says i want my money back ? what are the terms when that happens? hope you have a throwaway business name that you use so they don't leave a ripoff report for you as well.

It may happen, it may not, the majority i see it doesn't work, or comes back, i don't do this type of work but know a lot of businesses and marketers who do it and say the same thing in the real world.

That's why they keep paying you, monthly or contract length. You don't promise anything but you explain how it CAN help, not that it will work magical wonders.
This is also why you don't beg a shitty business owner to hire you. They're going to be a headache of a customer, always finding ways to fire you without actually treating their customers better.

Hi,
May be you are walking wrong way as you expressed frustration about keywords.I suggest to do more keyword research.Go for Low competition but high user experience keyword.Use Social Book marking,Forum Posting,Auto approved blog commenting,G+.

Cheers

Ok, so you'll want to target people with money. People who desperately need to get these taken down. Politicians, people in industries with high customer value (most medical-related fields, all sorts of contractors, etc.) , criminals, etc. They probably already know why would they need your help.

To find prospects, start by looking for sites that have ratings. There's usually a site for doctor ratings for example. Determine if these sites are well-ranked or if there are many ratings/reviews on them to see if people actually use them. Then sort by ranking and you know the rest. If the site doesn't rank well, find the lowest rated doctors and search their name to see if anything negative shows up on other sites.

Another way is to just search something like '<city> <field> "~terrible"' where using the tilde will show synonyms in results as well.
