    Build the link and it will help your site rank better. Make sure the PR is on the actual page you are getting the link from and that it is not a nofollow link. Also, put your keyword in the right places on your site and avoid keyword stuffing.

    You can search for how to build high PR links using the search function or Google. You'll find lots of threads/articles that teach how to build high PR links.

    Don't rely on pagerank for your links. It hasn't been updated in ages, and won't be visibly updated anymore.

    The whole link building theory is simple though. A good link from a niche relevant site with a lot of authority will pass a small amount of its authority on to your site. The more authority your site has, the more likely Google is to rank it higher up in the SERPs.
