How do I generate web design leads?

Hello everybody, I am a web designer and based in Los Angees, CA.
I would like to target plumbers, aircondition and other types of contractors.


My question is, which method of advertising should I use to target customers for web design?

Most people do the 7878 method. If I were you I would get Places Scout and have it scrape all businesses in the area without a website (it has that function). Then mail them a proposal or a preview premade website with their name on it.

Direct mailing can be difficult to get results from (based on my personal experience). Custom tailored direct mailers and cold calling would probably be your best bet.
