how do i find new backlinks?

hey guys sup? this is my first thread at bhw and i hope i get my question cleared.

I have been learning SEO from few weeks. reading many-many HQ threads here from some time.

But one question that remains unanswered to me is: How do i search for new backlinks for my new website?

considering the fact that my niche is a fake gaming one, it is tough to find relevant backlinks for my site.
I want to do white hat organic SEO of my site, so i need to search backlinks on my own using google.

Hoping for some answeres here :)

If you have a budget you could go for some High PR relevant backlinks. Check out the BST section of this forum and others such as digital point. I'm sure you'll find somebody with a High PR gaming website somewhere. If your budgets a bit smaller you could always go look to see if you can grab a high PR domain for a cheap price and build the website yourself, linking to your niche site from the home page.

i got some money i earned online but still; i would like to do some work manually and learn something.
 
Use the backlink fairly to magically procure 10000's of PR9 backlinks to link back to your site

Look at where others in the same niche are getting their links from. To do that, you can use free tools like ranksignals.com or backlinkwatch.com.
 
Just browse this forum man, and ignore the trolls. Although you will get a lot more respect if you do your own research before asking too many questions. PM me if you have any questions :)

Well, to put in in quick words, is to find sites that accept posts/comments, that is related to your site, and post there. Or, you can automate it using software, such as GSA Search Engine Ranker. Get some services on here, most of them will give you backlink that you will need.
 
Use Ahrefs.com and go to every top-level domain that is ranking and see check their backlinks. Try and get your links where your competitors are getting links.
 
Use site explorer or ahrefs to discover your competitors links and build them manually. Set up social media accounts and free blogs and build useful articles on those and send backlinks on your way!

This was a 1 month old post, when i started with SEO. I am doing SEO of my website from 1 month now, not having any significant improvement yet.
Have few queries so i am PMing you now.

And guys ahrefs only shows less than 10 results. And most of them are low PR with high OBL. And backlinkwatch.com does not show any backlink of my competitor idk why.
 
Thanks everyone for their kind replies, but ahrefs is not showing me more than 10 results of my competitors backlinks. Nor is backlinkwatch.com
I have started my campaign from 15 days and not having any significant results. It would be appreciated if someone could take 10 mins of their busy schedule to guide me in right direction. I am not asking you to teach me SEO, just tell me what am i doing wrong by having a look at what i am doing.

It seems that competitor research will be your #1 method to find backlink sources.
After you get all backlinks pointing to a site in question, analyze their SEO metrics and find out the best backlink sources of your competitors.
You may want to try SEO SpyGlass for that, as they launched the new backlink database last week.

I would have asked someone to do it, but i am not having enough money currently to hire someone.
 
It is best to rely on a link building software, one that allows different tiering so that you do not get any Google slaps. Then create backlinks daily and soon you would have lots of new backlinks to your site.
