How do I even benefit from engagement groups?

Forgive me as I'm quite new to this (3wk old account - 900followers) but I'm just trying to understand a bit more about the rounds method.
Been in rounds for about a week now. Of course my likes have increased by alot, but that's about it. I do in fact reach top posts for a good set of my hashtags (yes I checked to make sure I'm not ghost banned), but I gain no followers from this. Most of my followers still come from follow/unfollow.

I'm just wondering if I'm doing something wrong. Maybe my account is to 'young' to reap the spoils? Others in the chat groups have realized this as well, but they keep on going regardless.
*Groups of 1K+ with about 200-400 per round.

As of right now, the likes from the rounds are doing anything but an ego boost.. .
Am I missing something?

maybe your hashtags are to heavy ...... gor for smaller ones.
 
Ditto on the hashtags being too wide.

If you are not getting in the top page with the amount of likes you get, go a level down with your hashtags. Same result? Go a level down till you find what works for you.

Curious though - what engagement group you are in with less than 1k followers?

Even smaller? Right now I'm reaching top on 30-70k hashtags - just not receiving much followers (Yes I'm posting quality content). Even others who are reaching top in the heavier hashtags are reporting the same thing. What other factors are to take into account?

Sorry for the miscommunication, but I am reaching top for them. (12/13 tags)
As of right now Vision Media is 870. The other <1k I've left.
 
Are you selling anything? The marketing is only half the problem. You need a product first and foremost.
 
How are you tracking where your followers are coming from? Could be a tracking issue.

If you are reaching your hashtags, maybe go one level up and see if you can reach those and what comes of it.
 
You only benefit initially. Engagement groups are great for ranking your posts in its hashtags. You'll never receive organic traffic with it. Its fake exposure.
 
Bro engagement groups are for hitting explore hashtags dont work anymore

If a account show good followers and grate views and good comments
That account worth more then a non engagement account, with just followers ...

I normally can just tell where they're coming from in a way. Some follow because I followed them, then they're the bot accounts that follow since my post reached top hashtag.

This is exactly what I've been thinking. In a way its still 'fake' likes, and since I'm not getting much followers from it, not sure if it's worth my time.
What do you guys think? Maybe drop it till when my account gets bigger or something?

Yeah but the fact that it's not 'real' likes and comments, just doesn't seem worth it to me. Maybe if it was boosting my organic followers then yeah sure. That's why I'm trying to figure out if I'm doing something wrong.
 
The hashtags do increase my fan pages exposure, but I'm afraid their reach are not that much.
It's just a showing figure from Faceboook
