How do I collect payment?

I'm using interspire shopping cart. I was wondering how do I accept credit card payments? Do I need to hook it up with a bank account or attach it to a bank account? How does it work? Please help me out. Thanks.

Also if anyone using interspire shopping cart what payment method are you using and accepting?
