You should list your requirements for a hosting company before looking for one, then look for those that fits your needs. It will be a lot faster and easier to choose. Don't forget to look for coupons that are lurking around, it can save you some $$

i don't know,probably you should search for old,reputable hosting companies.i am with hostgator since 2007 and i am very happy with them,never had a single issue,i was looking over my tickets last days and i have no more than 10 tickets til 2007 and most of them are about some upgrates i asked over the years.

First check if they have livechat

check reviews

Check for support tivcket response time

Check for uptime

These are very basic feature needed

Anyone but Hostgator lol.

If you're just looking to host a basic site, Hostwinds are the best that I've been with so far.
