What should I do to bypass hostgator ID verification? I try to call but they don't allow me to verify by phone. Everyone, if you have any insight on web hosting and bypass verification please share it here. It may seem like general knowledge to you but it is what a newbie like me would kill to know. Your post count, thanks or reputation is irrelevant. What is important is that you take the time to share and help others and that is what count and what this forum is all about.
The Answer is NO.. You can't bypass their ID Verification. Even if edit your info using Photoshop, if you do be sure to make a better one to avoid caughting by hostgator. If they have found you cheated with them, better hide to some places that they will not caught you by their fraud policies. The reasons why Hostgator this time is always ask a photo Id because the US Governtment has been started asking all the details like special photo Id, home address of the registrants like us. They will soon implenting the the CAN SPAM Act law to some international countries due to lots of fraudulents activities made by some international countries. FTC has started cracking some company
Yes, I even tried a trick of registering the hosting for a client of mine. They won't accept even that.
I have calmly verified with Hostgator on the phone. Called them from Europe, like for 15 minutes, so it was quite an expensive call, but who cares - they just gave me some questions regarding my passport number, etc., plus verified the phone number, and that was it. I can't understand why they do not want to verify your identity on the phone... sounds strange to me, sorry
Just call them. They asked me for docs,I just called them and Verified Last 4 digits of Credit Card and problem solved
Code: Just call them. They asked me for docs,I just called them and Verified Last 4 digits of Credit Card and problem solved I did call them but they refused to get me verified on the phone. What did you say to them?
Then how do I get my hosting? General knowledge tell me not to register domain and hosting at the same place because when something goes wrong all will be lost. Thanks for sharing anyway.
If you worried about hosting problems get an overseas regoster and overseas hosting, and a non .com or .net domain.
Yeah I never knew this either. I registered hosting with HG roughly just over a week ago and it was fine.
Just tell them that for privacy reasons you don't want to send them a copy of your passport and if they don't want to loose a client just find another way to get things moving.
Best bet is to dump hostgator and go with a real host. I had all sort of unprofessional behavior from them, spamming me with upsell every time I needed a change made on the server, not honoring their time frames. Liquid Web is more expensive, but good lord the support is awesome and you can get a VPS with 8 IP's for no hassle at all. Not affiliated with either one, just saying that someone recommended hostgator to me and I was sorely disappointed.
