How do I build up a successful sub-reddit from scratch?

Hiya,

I am looking for advice on how to build up a successful sub-reddit from scratch as the title suggests.

I just created the r/GenZCash subreddit and am looking to mold it into something similar as the r/beermoney subreddit. I am doing this for two reasons:

(1) The mods on r/beermoney are terrible and strict.
(2) Make money. Ultimately, I would like to use that subreddit as a way to promote myself through Referrals and Affiliate Marketing, with the subreddit getting a large amount of traffic, and as the owner of a subreddit you can just pin a post to the top.

Does anyone have any tips for me? I've thought about just commenting on other subs and referencing mine, and this would work, just take forever. I'm willing to do it, but are there any other efficient options I'm missing?

Extra Context: I want the subreddit to be a place where people can discuss ways to make money BOTH online AND offline. Online will most likely be the primary target but I'd like to capture that real life Side Hustle niche.

You don't build a successful subreddit from scratch. You just build a subreddit from scratch. Regardless of what you do, regardless of what advice you follow, there are no guarantees that it will be successful. Many big subs started as small jokes without much ambition behind. They just got big. It's matter of luck, timing and circumstance. If there was a blueprint, everyone would have successful subreddits.

Pro tip: Build a community and find a way to get userbase into your own platform. Reddit mods are trash and will ban your hard work sub because they woke up with a bad humor.

Things you can try.

1. crossposting(for example on nsfw subs, repost adult content that you already posted on your subreddit and cross post them to another to steal their users)
2. try buying services that are aimed at subreddit promoting, can't remember but i saw a few services here.
3. try bribing mods and telling them if you let me do x ill give you y.

theres so many more things you should do but you have to realize that reddit in itself is a terrible place to market. they are mostly INFP or INTJ, personality types(dont believe me? look up all the mbti personalities and see which subreddit has the most members).
realize people with those types of personalities are more likely to be more tech savvy, more aware of their situation. they won't fall for dumb shit or something that is poorly thought out.
this doesn't mean its impossible to market to them, just significantly harder than facebook users. Redditors are more likely to be liberals/left wing and are less likely to be needing anything you have to offer them. They are more scared of providing info to others and will take desperate measures to make sure their privacy is top notch.

They hate capitalism over there and they watch here for lastest spam tricks to counter them.Yes they will flag your account to death.

The method I use to grow subreddits is to find other related subreddits, get older successful posts from them that had lots of upvotes, repost on my subreddit and then crosspost back to the original subreddit. This will get lots of users that are interested in the topic of your subreddit.
