Make sure you get 10+ Real Niche related Guest post. Links from Authority sites(as many as links you can).
Search for a safe Network for blog post. Get 10 to 20 links and see for the ranking. IF it works make sure you go with the same ratio.
If you need link juice you can Build Tier-2 links.

White hat Links are the natural one, you don't have in theory to build them. They arrive from relationship with other blogger and site owner.
Also guest post Matt Cutts warned that they can be penalized.
The best strategy to create a good link profile is to check for people that already shared post of other sites with the same topic as yours or a similar one, and send out some courtesy email asking to check out for your post too.
Better if you build relationship via social with the owners and engage some conversation that drive you to present your work.
Then you can send out your content and suggest to link them in the same post of others as an alternative.
All those action, relationship via social included drive you traffic.

You can make a product for your site that affiliates can promote. Sometimes they create awesome backlinks that you can check via Alexa. If you find just a handful of good ones that could be all you need.

1. PRWeb press releases help as they get a wide coverage and real journalists see them.
2. Approach some bloggers in your niche and post on their blogs.
3. Social media, forums and such... basically interaction with people.
You might do everything right but if your website content is rubbish then nothing will help.

Press Release Syndication is one of the best way to fetch good links. But most of them are nofollow so it does not contribute much for SERP but good for Authority and backlink profile.

If you want to build your website with white hat SEO you have to don't build backlinks.
Any backlink you build for your self is not legal due to Google guidelines, Google says if you provide good and useful content, the users will do backlinks for you, and almost that's doesn't happen, so we build backlinks for our selves : ))
Some people like to call building backlinks with natural and clean way gray hat seo : )) and using tools, churn and burn black hat SEO.
What ever they want to call it, at the end any backlink to build it or u pay others to do it is not legal for Google.
