How Do I build Authority Sites?

Hello everyone, am a newbie in blogging. Please i want to know how to build authority sites at least to generate a form of profit, am new in this forum so please help me by showing me how to do it. I know blogging is now a instant money pumping machine that it takes time but i want to know how to create one.
please i will appreciate if the following question will be answered.
1. what are Authority site and how are the different form normal blogging?.
2. what blogging platform is best for building Authority sites?
3. How to generate traffic to such Authority sites?
4. How To get Backlinks should one do for such sites and what type of backlinks?
5. And what are the steps on building a successful Authority sites?
and so on because i don't know anything when it come to this.
please help me, i will appreciate your reply please

Authority sites are ordinary sites, with the difference that they have outstanding content and really good backlink portfolio (much better than the comptetitors) in terms of quality. Usually authority sites are old, and they can easily rank high on relevant keywords on search engines..

I can't post url of a good definition that will help you understand. Think an authority site like a big retailer store. Do you know Walmart, Kroger, Target or Walgreen? they are authority sites. People like them, people trust them, people talk about them, people write about them, people buy from those places. And now compare them with your local shopping stores which may seem like micro niche sites.

Any platform but wordpress seems the best nowadays.

3. How to generate traffic to such Authority sites?
Lots of ways. You should use social media, blog commenting, article directories, web 2.0 sites advertisements...

This is the most hard part. You should go for quality backlinks from well established sites and they are not easy to get.

Choose a broader niche, spend time, never give up and spend money.

This answer is great. And your example to define authority sites was more than great lol. Walmart, target and local shops. Good imagination and real life example. +repped

Well basically authority sites are well formed blogs. A blog grows into being an authority site. To realy differentiate the two is a hard task. What you do for an authority site is quite simple. I think it would be better to give the characteristics of an authority site then you can build up from there.
- An authority sites will have a google ranking.
- It will have very many unique articles.
- It will have a forum.
- It will be sociable - have a twitter link, face book page
- It will be a brand
- It will have youtube channel with many quality informative videos.
- Huge traffic.

best examples are : Black hat world website, youtube, face book, worrior forrums, and such sites, fiverr maybe and so on. So advanced blogging created an authority site.

I believe authority site can take time and need real dedication to update content persistently. So I guess having a team to build authority site will really help.
 
I think the problem with authority site is they take time to build but easier to maintain compared to having lot of niche site..

But with niche site, you can get extra cash faster.

Maybe it's a good thing to start with multiple niche sites in the same industry..
Squeeze some money from the site first..

And then use the money to invest in building an authority site.

Since you already have a network of niche sites, I bet it will be easier to get traffic since you can promote the authority site (either using banner or links) within the niche sites.
