How do I build and monetize a big or small website idea?!

I can kind of figure things out on my own with building and maintaining a website. Youtube videos teach you a lot as well, for any subject. I love youtube... but I can't learn quick enough when I could find somebody to do this for me...

What EXACTLY should I be searching for. In your experience of running maybe say a community website like this(I'm doing nothing like this), how would you do it if you only knew a little but seem to catch on quick enough? Would it be too much? It seems pretty easy to use cpanel, I just need to spend like 6 months researching to have a decent understanding.

So maybe I build my website as much as I can and outsource what I am not capable of? Then, find a "website evaluator" on fiverr to let me know if I need to do anything else to make it functional?

Generally speaking, uploading a forum or blog into the Cpanel is easy. That is step one. Build a community or website then ranking it to get traffic is the hard part.

Maybe you could say how you would build weedmaps.com for me in this thread? That would be so epic...

How are they searching for dispensaries, based off a self submit system because they are so popular? Did they start by adding it themselves, outsourcing the building, promoting/hyping, and then launching?

My website is similar in idea but using google maps with google search isn't sufficient, I think I have to build my own database of places. Perhaps I can alter a search algorithm to search a part of a website I want it to search.

Obviously google will let you search in just one domain, but it's only going to show what's crawled correct? What if you need it updated everyday? Maybe... hmmm maybe I can get away without daily update.... ideas are sprouting.

I love this place.

This website is my passion, kind of, I'm not expecting to make a ton of money unless I can do private ads.

I was typing comment after commented, so that was not in reply to you. I am building a review site.

Imagine a website reviewing Kobe Steak in a city where there are 500 steak houses but only 100 carry Kobe because it's a niche thing and most people DON'T want Kobe beef, they want normal. But some of us do, and all I can search through is google. I want a kobe beef website that becomes an authority website so that even though I can only find maybe 75% of Kobe places via google, the other 25% will flock to me(unless they prefer not to be listed).

This example is so spot on wow shit I guess that's okay I have the domain name. That means DA right? Domain authority, a proper sounding domain?

I am just learning and everyday I'm like "WOW I've been on the internet so much I get it now, except I've used adblock all my life so that didn't ever register with me before"... which throws off understanding IM in the first place. Ads are everything for a product unless it's a brick and motar.

I want to be a business man, I have a high enough IQ not to work for somebody like a bitch, but I have to do what I have to do for now.

OP I think you need to read tutorials on similar topic for sometime before proceeding to taking action.
