How do high retention view services work?

When I see a service offering high retention views, do they mean 1-2 minute views or views that watch 50%-100% of the video?
In other words, if I buy 1,000 high retention views, am I buying 1,000 1-2 minute views, or 1,000 4-6 minute views?

from what i know only 1 seller in bhw can offer 90% rentetion to video of any length ( i havent tested him yet ) gonna try hm today ..since he said he can offer 90% retention to any length

Depends on the type of 'retention view', but chances are no one watches the video at all. Just a quick impression, then modified off to YouTube

Depends on the seller some sell just 1 minute while others up to 90% retention regardless of video's length.

It can vary from provider to provider. It usually tells in the sales pitch :~)

So who is/ how do I contact this 90% retention fellow and how did it go for you?

contact the seller of the high retention views, and ask him how long the views are. The view length varies

Most of them send 90%-99% retention. They're not providing real views and for them it's the same 50%retention and 90% retention so they just play with parameters

You simply purchase views, and the views have an average view length of 80-100% of the video

I can do retention views for any length- I am not limited to this 1-2 mins retention

if you video is only doing 1-2 minute retention, then those are worthless retention views especially if the
video is longer. Right now I do about 80-100% which i think is optimal for ranking purposes in my own
experience.

GUYS... It's called a BOTNET, they can make the views last as long as they want when they control people's computers. To my knowledge there is NO possible way that is legitimate short of paying people and locking their computer down so they can't stop the video from playing.

If your vendor tells you they aren't using a botnet, then ask them what they are using, I doubt they will be able to give you an honest answer beyond "we can't tell you it's a top secret method" (rolls eyes)

Even a view exchange network typically hops to the next video every 30 seconds, some might last the whole video length or customized lengths, but really there pools are a few thousand users max. So if you're seeing beyond a few thousand views they are probably using hybrid view exchange network AND YOU GUESSED IT, A BOTNET.

Oh, and if you really think they are paying for a 100K high end proxies and running private bots on their servers... LOL yeah right, you have any idea of the cost of that? Probably 10's of thousands of dollars to run an operation like that.

I know I'm not the only one who...

1. Muted youtube exchange software and tossed it on another monitor so I didn't have to watch or listen to it.

2. For website based networks, a lot of time's I just disabled the javascript for youtube and left it on for the exchange network so the page kept refreshing, but nothing every actually loaded and I got credits. I would also turn off css and images so I would hardly waste any bandwidth at all and just keep a window open 24/7 collecting free credits.

3. Disabled flash in IE so software using IEs engine will count it, but can't play the video. LOL

Depends on the software, but most of the makers of this stuff don't bother protecting it. This is why you usually only get 10% of the expected views.

Are your views non mobile? are they from facebook or twitter? USA based?
I saw a Geo targeted option too in sales thread. what is retention of those?

And Skitties,
Do you have drip feed option ? like 500 views or 1k views daily?

You probably missed the few methods that were posted on BHW then - you would have to do your research and find out that everything is not a botnet.

Yes there are some who use that and it is highly illegal.

Most providers that own a method use cheap web traffic and guess what some as low as $50 for 1,000,000 hits - so your entire message is misleading and not true.

so ppl pay $50 for 1kk views and make a business , can you share where ppl buy it ?

It depends on your Video Duration and what the HR Views provider guarantees are. For example, HighRetentionView.Com (excellent site for Country Targeted Hr Views and more) guarantees your video to be watched for at least 50% of the video duration and up to 100% of the video duration/length and this retention rate applies to videos that are under 30 minutes of length only so if your video is 30 minutes long for example, it will be watched for at least 15 minutes and up to 30 minutes, per each view. So keep in mind to always read and understand how each provider works, including the retention rate, max length of video and much more. Wishing you the best and hope this helps!
