How do crawlers know what backlinks I have?

How do crawlers (Ahrefs, SEMRush etc) know what backlinks are pointing to my site?

Let's say I have SiteA and SiteB. SiteA is linking to SiteB. Can a crawler only crawl SiteB and know that SiteA is linking to it, or does it have to crawl both in order to establish this?

They will need to crawl whichever site is giving the link, so in this case SiteA

Once the post link is indexed it automatically crawls all of them so it depend on the index rate and the sitemap
