How do comments effect SEO ?

I agree that Google DOES in fact pay attention to comments, as I stated above, we've all done searches before where we've looked for a topic or subject and ended up on someones blog or forum.

Hell i see comments ranking (obviously much more going on than just the comments...) from YouTube videos I have on certain subjects.

So yeah i would agree.

Comments are good for your site in terms of SEO but you moderate them. Google pays a lot of attention to fresh content and comments are that - fresh content. Just make sure you take care of the spam and the comments that are not related to your topic.

Hey brutang. Yes I have this plug.Definitely if you think about in a very practical sense, look at BHW or any other forum, if you see a thread with 1000 posts vs. 1 on any given subject one would be proned to check it out over the other.
