How difficult would it be to rank the following keywords

Good morning folks, I am soon to belaunching a revolutionary way to purchase computers and workstations,

For the beginning I want to focus primarily on selling gaming dekstops.
These dekstops will be relatively inexpensive comprared to the $300-$1,000.00 markups the competition charges, and best all they will be completely customizable, bearing of course that the parts you pick are compatible

SO...! My question is. How difficult would it be to rank the following keywords on the first page of google?


Gaming computer.
Buy gaming computer
buy gaming pc
Buy cheap gaming computer
build gaming computer

Using >> WHITEHAT << Seo techniques, I cannot afford to have my website hit by penalties in the future. So everything needs to be legitimate.

To summarize, you have a chance with 'Buy cheap gaming computer' but not really with the others unless you have A LOT of money to spend on ranking.
 
Think up more longtail keywords. They're the ones that will be easier to rank for.
 
How expensive do you think in comparison to googles pay per click?
and whats "A LOT" of money

What I dont get is how informative sites are ranked so high, when they dont actually sell gaming computers... and I also find it strange that big companies are not up there, did they get hit by googles latest update?

For a whitehat company to rank you up there they'll want $1000's per month.

I'd recommend an adwords campaign and something to build your brand. Maybe give away a system via one of the smaller gaming mags/websites. To enter they have to sign up to your mailing list, something like that?
 
interesting, where can I find "greyhat" SEO. and what would it cost to get my website with those keys words ANYWHERE on the first page?

I agree, but remember you will also rank for lots of other "long tail" keywords that include your keywords by just building content and links. There are alot of keywords that users will still use for a search that Google or even SEMrush do not include in their volume reports.
 
Right, well to start im going to use google adwords, and yahoo/bing sponsored ads, however i want to build in to coming up as natural results, Im not sure where to start or who would be the best person for the job that knows what would/wouldnt get me in trouble ranking wise. In the logn run those who took short cuts will be cut down and have to recover, while those who work hard and do things "right" are rewarded in the end.

Slowly write GOOD CONTENT and build links via web 2.0 blogs, then do social signals, then social bookmarks, then build more web 2.0 links and then blah blah blah. Do a search for "SEO blueprint" here on BHW and you will find all you need to know for SEO. Thats how I did it.
 
I'll take the challenge of ranking for "build gaming computer," give me a shout OP and I'll help you out. I have a few ideas to rocket up the SERPs as long as your on-page is solid.
