How difficult is it to find a PHP coder?

I was just looking at BHW and thought its a good place but its now becoming obvious it isn't a good place to look for coders. Beside that I just added a couple from Telegram groups but it didn't work out.

I am on upwork now and so far it looks very promising. I love how I can just dismiss coders with ego issues similar to the guys here in this thread. That's big help to not waste time and keep it professional.

You absolutely get what you pay for with developers. Are you hiring someone that just wants your money in exchange for half assed code? Or are you hiring someone that wants to solve your problem? The latter costs good money.

My work ethics aren't even in question. You're the type of client that no one would want to work with. Insecure, a noob, and poor.

As stated in other replies it happens on both sides of the table. The answers given have already supplied you with everything you need to know.

Better go with Upwork or Fiverr kind of platforms, if you're unable to pick one from here.
Upfront pay could be normal these days. At least partial pay would be working.
You know why!
 
Its not difficult but it is hard to find a coder who code professionally and maintain all the things and security.

I'm a php coder and I'm open to discuss how someone pays me. I don't require payment in full before the work is done but something to upfront to show the client is serious is a must.

depends on how much are you paying and what are you building
 
Upfront payments are normal freelance practice, if you're worried do milestone payments (pay for part of work upfront, he shows you what he did, pay again, he works again, etc a couple times untill he finishes).

If you want to pay after hire him fulltime under employment contract. If you want less responsibility dealing with a freelancer you'll have to accept upfront payments, it's standard.
 
I do some php work for a few clients, we have long established relationship and one I still require pre-pay

I feel sorry for whatever developer you do eventually find. Your a nightmare client. Btw php is easy. You say you aren't interested in learning it but if you had even a hint of how it works you would understand whos over pricing you and who isn't. As a business owner, you need to take some responsibility in learning the skills you need to look for in order to audit your employees or hires, come up with realistic milestones etc. If you aren't willing to go that far than all your going to do is ruin everyones day and worse, shoot yourself in the foot. Be dedicated to your craft, that includes learning side skills, if you can't even do something as simple as that maybe you need to find a new route in life.

1. Always put the money in escrow
2. Only pay for a fully completed and working project.
