So BHW, how did you make money today?

To contribute, I made money today since someone came to my site and purchased one of my services. I made an easy 30 bucks on the sale and I outsourced the work to one of BST's on the forum.

I love how the BST's are so high quality, you guys are so much better than fiverr sellers.

So how did you make money today?

It was actually a very interesting day.. I pushed out a specific article I wrote yesterday to social media, just about everywhere.. I got a big surprise when I checked my adsense earnings..

How are you pushing traffic to your site? Try hiring a yahoo answers poster for your site, just 15 answers a day related to your site and within months you will start getting a big flow of constant traffic. Then since yahoo answers traffic is usually highly targeted you will get clicks on your ads and revenue.

There my friend you discovered the highly guarded secret of social media traffic and adsense : it won't do jack shit for your earnings.

I once hit front page jackpot on reddit and made about $10 in 8 hours. There were shockwaves of traffic for a few days after, still miserable CTR. Social media is the worst possible traffic for conversions, but it sends a nice social signal. And last time I checked, Reddit is still not profitable....

Yes, I have definitely noticed social media traffic doesn't convert much at all, although I hoped they would.
From what I have noticed from personal experience and from a friend who posts daily on reddit, there is maybe.. 1.0% conversion from it's traffic. Most users have adblocker on reddit.

It's quite hard to make the jump away from a well paying career....

i was renovating a room and found 1 cent under the carpet in the radiator, i then spent 180.00 for carpet and installation. on saturday I'm going to be collecting 2 months rent for the room, 1400! cha ching !
