How did you hear about BHW?

I came across this website while looking for ways to buy backlinks, and it has opened up a new door for me

How did you hear about BHW?

I first saw it on an episode of either American Greed or Dateline NBC, although I can't quite remember which one since it was back in 2009. I've tried to find that episode without success. I used to love looking up the websites that appeared on shows like that. I never had an interest in Internet marketing until I came here and started reading some of the epic methods people would share.

If anyone remembers that episode, let me know!!

I found BlackHatWorld by accident while searching for SEO tips online. A comment on a tech blog mentioned it as a resource for unconventional strategies

I searched the Unethical life Pro Tips subreddit for ways to get more traffic on your website.

I use to check this forum out 15yrs ago, but just did a google search and it popped up again. I forgot all about it.

I always end up here when I'm broke af

I had a dream, Jesus Christ came to me and told me to join black hat world

That's probably the most unique entry story I've heard yet. Most of us just stumbled here from Google while searching for "how to make money online" or looking for cracked SEO tools back in the day.
Never knew this place made it to national television in '09. The methods shared back then were legendary anyway—complete wild west.
Hope someone from the old guard remembers the episode and drops the name here.

I work for my cousin, and we were in the office. He was like, "You should check out this website. There are plenty of opportunities, and you can learn so much here, better than whatever they teach you in school, haha."

I was searching for internet marketing forums and Voila here I am.

Much better here than the arrogant Reddit subreddits.

Found BHW in the early 2010s through the Russian-speaking affiliate community — back then it was the reference forum that kept getting linked whenever someone wanted to know "how it actually works" instead of the official Google line. Registered in 2015, then turned into a textbook lurker — read for years, never posted. Lately came back because the whole field shifted under us with AI tooling, and lurking through the same accumulated threads stopped feeling enough. Funny to log in and realize the account is older than half the senior members' accounts here.

I heard about BHW back in 2016 but never joined until last week. I have decided to be part of this wonderful community

But I am really thankful to the universe that i have joined this amazing internet forum

Blessings…

I ended here after one of my friends told me about this forum. I'm only sad i didn't know about this site before.

It's @PetraAnn's fault, you can all blame her.

I actually discovered BHW through Google while searching for SEO and affiliate marketing discussions. Every time I had a question about rankings, traffic, or making money online, there seemed to be a BHW thread somewhere in the search results. After reading a few discussions, I realized there was a lot of practical experience being shared here compared to many blogs that just repeat the same information.

At first I mainly lurked and read old threads, but over time I started participating more. Some of the older case studies and method threads were especially interesting because they showed both the successes and the mistakes people made along the way. That's what kept me coming back.
