How did you get your first backlink?

I'm a web developer that created a couple of websites. I have improve my on-page seo skills and realized that I probably need to start doing some outreach to build some domain authority. What was everyones first experience getting a backlink?

I actually got it from a blog I linked to in a post. :) Felt pretty wholesome lol
 
I either buy them, buy expired domains that already have backlinks or join forums, blogs etc and start getting your links out there. There is so much work in SEO it can be overwhelming but I just read forums, Google topics and YouTube everything! Good luck :)
 
Emailed tons of blogs basically spammed em to death. The ones that let me write guest posts were trash.
 
By doing various submission on platforms. It will help to get backlinks.
 
I would still start with a GSA churn and burn and let it season up for about 6 months. Then I start growing the sites with quality backlinks.
