How did you get started on your SEO journey?

I started working with a Local SEO Agency years ago as a WordPress Website Designer. I was reliable for Full Site Builds while somebody else was reliable for Maintaining the sites. However, while being with the Agency, I quickly discovered that SEO was a thing and started to research and learn more about it.

Forward on a couple of years, I left the agency as I was beating them in both Local & National Search Terms and I was getting clients of my own, I then started my Freelance Journey.

What about you?

I needed money asap. Like seriously ASAP. No actually i was depressed and didn't know where to go with my life, everything turned upside down and i fell into a hole, i had a family, a home, a girlfriend and a good life, still it didn't really fullfill me in anyway..i still had debts, stress, was scared of dying every single night..or that my cancer would come back. I tried to make everyone around me happy and smile, make them laugh, while laying in the bed at 2am crying about my life choices like a little snowflake..one day i chose not to repeat that but stand up and do something, learn, read books, start working, write scripts and so on.
I never really finished a book, because it would give me the wrong impression of achieving something, so as soon as i got something out of the book i just closed it and started doing what it said. Because i saw a lot of videos online of the selfimprovement trap.

Now my new goal is to help people the same way, make a blueprint together and start working, stop waiting for an oppertunity, no one will lend you a hand in business if you're not worth their time.

Sorry i'm really tired, didn't have my coffee yet and trying to record for 3hours failing over and over again haha.

I've got a couple of personal ones, a few niche blogs, websites for my other business etc and then clients are mainly local businessmen :)

Oh wow, I hope everything is going well for you now though bud. It's not easy when your depressed and stuck at the fork in the road so to speak. If you do ever release that book, please share, I'll purchase a couple of copies because I can tell you, it's going to be a reading experience alright...

Around 2008 my digital printing business website got a very, very good customer who was looking for a corporate printing house, and did it just because of my html/css website was ranking #1 in G after lots of kws.

started digging in, found a guy who explained me main parts and starting experimenting.

I was over the moon when discovered bhw - this is the place to be to learn seo.

I have a niche blog too but its not going well. I have about 10 visitors a day and the pictures don't appear anywhere on bing, google or duckduckgo, even tho I did absolutely everything I was able to find to optimize it for SEO.
Indexing, sitemaps, settings, titles, descriptions... all I could find.

I use blogger, maybe thats my problem? What are you using?
I thought about just switching to a regular website.
 
Nine years ago, when I was 16 years old, we were poor and asked my parents for my Christmas present to give me 20$ for a domain and hosting.
Back then, I knew absolutely 0 about web development, SEO, and marketing.
It was so much fun!
Sometimes I wish just a minute with the 16-year-old me, that guy was so fired up and naive :))!

Nine years later I am still in the IM business trying to make it :D

I see, blogger could be the reason as it's not something I've used, I use WordPress and all of my pictures and pages show on Search Engines file.

Are you including ALT Tags within your Images?

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I have spent a lot of time optimizing it and I included alt tags too. Guess blogger is at fault here. Shame, since its free and lets me put up my own ads without other ads like other free hosting websites.
I should get a cheap domain at namecheap and stop wasting time on blogger.

I would probably move from Blogger but it's just my personal opinion.

Get some cheap CPanel Hosting on a Cheap Domain and install WordPress, then build a site using a basic theme and you'll be good to go.

It's how I started with my first site :)
