How did you get better at HTML & JavaScript?

Hi everyone,
I've learned the basics of HTML and vanilla JavaScript, but I feel stuck. Simple projects aren't teaching me much anymore.
What projects or daily habits helped you improve? How did you practice debugging and move from beginner projects to building real websites?
I'd love to hear what worked for you. Thanks.

move on to backend development and give laravel a try. you can connect your js frontend to a simple laravel api. it is super easy to debug and used everywhere in the industry

I've been thinking about learning backend too, so Laravel seems like a good next step. Connecting a JavaScript frontend to a simple API sounds like a practical way to learn. I'll definitely give it a try. Thanks.
 
One thing that helped me was working on a real website instead of only doing tutorials. I learned much more by reading, modifying, and debugging HTML, CSS, and JavaScript in an actual project than by building isolated practice examples.


I still use tutorials when I get stuck, but applying changes to a real project has improved my understanding much faster. I think real-world practice exposes you to problems that small demo projects usually don't.
 
Only by looking at tutorials and then implement fast you can see what works and how it works then learn . That is only way i can learn new things
 
I'd stop following tutorials and build something you would actually use. Try a small dashboard, portfolio, booking page, or API-based project.

Working on a real project teaches you things tutorials usually don't. You run into actual problems and have to figure them out, which helps you improve much faster.

awesome choice man. check out laracasts when you start out. their beginners guide to laravel is literally the best way to learn.

I've heard a lot of good things about Laracasts. I'll definitely check out the beginner series.
