I'm looking for other people's experiences, especially if you have fixed amazon affiliated website.

I'm fixing my clients websites, but we have never recovered from the effects of google's may update. We do have a lot of backlinks, and we have a lot of exact match anchors. I did changed a lot of them but none of the pages showed any significant recovery. I'm looking into the branding of the websites, and I think we should hit our homepage with a lot more branded backlinks. That's my next step, but I'm not sure if that's going to work. I'm looking for more ideas on what to do.

Would like to hear what's your experience. Thanks.

Whenever My website goes down because of any update.
I just wait.
I know that I don't create some shady backlinks cause they are all created manually. So I know what i created and if it is related to my website or not.

Thanks, I have a few link builders on that website and I track backlinks. Not sure if I have that many of unrelated ones. Right now I'm going to focus on branding the website and see what happens with that.

Wait for 8-9 month.
Before that nothing will happen.
Google is piece of shit.
I agree, I think that many people don't consider or forget that Google got a lot political in the last couple of years. Especially since Donald Trump became a president. There is a leaked video of google employees having a meeting to deal with reality of Donald Trump winning. Since after that they feel like they have to do more to prevent from those things happening again. I think that is one of the components of May update.

Anyway, Best I can do is work and wait.
