how did squidoo tracked my ip?

I created a lens yesterday on squidoo. Now today, i changed my ip using hidemyip, cleared all the cookies. But when i tried registering to squidoo, it said your ip has been blocked due to spam. Its rather weird, when you are using hidemyip.
This means hidemyip is leaking my ip? Is this possible?

It means their ip is spam.

Go back and try logging in with your original IP and see what happens. That will show you whether not it is your IP or the IP from hmip.....

it means that the IP you got from hidemyip has already been blocked for spam
