I know it's hard!
I was reading 'Fail' stories in 'Journey' section whole day. People struggle there putting work and time and money every day, and still can't make it. (though usually, they run more than 1 site)

I got inspired by Joint Ventures thread where I come across an idea to go 50/50 split. Sounds great and by doing so every person stays in their comfort zone and of course in a zone of their expertise.
So, if lucky, in this equation 50 + 50 can equal to 120 or even more!

I imagen an authority site venture. The writer will post 1-2 quality articles every week. The SEO guy will build links to every article. One manages hosting, design, and all of that. The other manages FB and IG.

But here is a thing. No high-quality professional is going to participate in something that can't even theoretically (over the years) yield nicely.

With a setup like this. how crazy 1000$/mo sounds?

It's not "hard" to build a 1k$ monthly site IF you have a good plan and you did your research well. It's just a lot of work, but it's worth investing your time (and some $).

This is exactly encouragement I need. thanks :)

It is not that hard if you know what you doing.

Work hard and learn from your mistakes. Keep trying and never give up and you can get there.

I started an 'authority' website in August after my first fail. And it is close to making $1k per month. I am sure I will be hitting that number in the next 2 months or so.
It is not too difficult to create $1k/month site. Like people said above, you need a plan.
Here is my tip.
Go for easy to rank Kws (We still have plenty of these floating around) that has 500-2000+ monthly search, write 4k to 6k words around the keyword and if your domain is strong enough, you will be in the top 30 within 2 months. Multiply this by 50 and you are on your way to 1k per month.

Good luck.

What do you mean multiply by 50?

That's $33.33 a day, not much. How many sites doesn't matter, what matters is you learning how to generate traffic, you could do it without a website with the right traffic.

Lots of sites make well over $1000 p/m but most take time to build up and get traffic.

Great! What do you mean by 'write 4k to 6k words around the keyword'? In one article?? such a huge article?
I've heard many times that you should not write more than one article per KW otherwise it's called keyword cannibalism or something.
How do you monetize an 'authority' website? adsense is not going to be enough right? Have to sell affiliate products as well?

Doesn't sound likely like that imo. Too many cooks in the kitchen. But 1k a month is very achievable. $33 a day.
You don't need a dedicated guy to manage hosting/design. That is a "one and done" thing. Check out wordpress & themeforest. Very easy in 2018.
Manage social media--sure you can use a dedicated team member for this. Most use bots or tools like IFTTT where it syncs your FB post to your IG, Twitter, etc. Can schedule posts with a calendar too with tool like Hootsuite/Buffer. Major time saver. Schedule whole week of posts in under 1hr.
4-8 articles a month for JV article writer partner? Why split 50% of 1000 ($500) when you can buy quality articles $5-10 a piece. (<$100).
Do all that yourself -- it's easy & just split with someone who knows SEO imo. Along the way you will probably learn a lot of SEO yourself.
You're right about adsense aka adcents. Affiliate/cpa offers are the way to go in most cases. Depends entirely on what the niche is.
If you google something like "top airsoft guns" you will find some authority sites ranking highly. Very well made with 3k-5k words on home page. It doesn't look like word-soup as they structure it very well. If you are lazy just take a look at how they are made & copy their site & reverse engineer it in a different niche. Just do your research and make sure the competition isn't crazy for that KW & there is enough traffic to warrant making a site there.
