It seems that people often mention shadowbanning as if it were something recurrent and common...is it really that common?
1. the topic "shadowban", which you are talking about, has another term for it "algorithm cycles", and these terms are closely associated. so this contains things like "cycles", or "spikes" and "drops" in views. this is present in all social media platforms. you cannot expect to get consistent traffic unless you are somehow promoting via ads, or among the top percent of high quality content creators example: dream, mrbeast, airrack, etc.
2. yes it is common, and the reasons for it are the following factors.
a. the global population is limited. so the number of viewers and the time they have available to consume content on the platform per day is limited, but on the other hand the number of creators are drastically rising, and the number of channels that are being constantly created are also rising.
so the problem here is, the algorithm will now have to pick amongst these 1000s of channels being created everyday.
as a result of all this, unless you are constantly making new channels or are making the best content that people want to watch, you can expect these sudden drop in views or massive fluctuations, because youtube is simply giving everyone a chance.
b. so yes you can expect a constant spike and drop in views. to increase your odds of success, get a strategy planning team for yourself, and make high quality content.
