How come Majestic & Ahrefs don't offer cheaper packages?

If you take a look around on the forum you'll see a lot of guys trying to find quality group buys for Majestic and Ahrefs. A lot of people seem to be willing to dish out $20 a month each for these services, so why don't these two companies capitalise and offer cheaper packages?

It really doesn't make any sense to me, especially when their system is probably fully automated. Them posting up these cheaper packages with a quarter of the standard package (or even a 1/10th) would probably wipe out a lot of group buys.

The only thing I can think of is they're worried that a smaller package will result in less sales of the larger packages and possibly less money. Could be wrong.

For the record, I'd happily pay $20 a month for something like 5,000 domain checks and whatever else. Anyone else?

    Lack/absense of competition with smaller/cheaper packages ..

They don't want to sell cheaper packages as cheaper packages mean more resources being used and less gain.
Selling cheaper packages would de-value the brand.
They want to sell to agencies and professionals.

Exactly. There is a major lack of competition. Anyone with almost a direct copy of all the links on the website going to have something truly unique and valuable. Majestic, Moz and Ahrefs don't have much competition right now. There are a few platforms on the rise, but they won't be here for a while.

When you think these things only cost $3 or so a day, it's really not much...

Just think of the time they save you.

I'm guessing that they make more money selling to less people at the current price.

I also think it's quite expensive but both offer an excellent service and also there isn't much competition for them, so they can get away with it.

    I'll tell you a secret.

Many months back I asked this same question multiple times. Then started researching BHW and happened upon a thread with a fiver link selling access to ahrefs accounts for $5. The same guy was also selling access to majestic for $5 (for 14 days).

If you go on fiver right now there's some dude selling ahrefs. I would most definitely test that gig out. Use the keywords "access ahrefs".

However, I don't think that's the same seller I used. Since he built a fairly large following then pivoted off fiver to his website where I continue to do a group buy every month.

Just be resourceful and I guarantee you'll find people doing group buys. If you can't pm me & I'll show you his site. I just don't want everyone knowing about it.

The funny thing is I found a way to have premium ahrefs and semrush for free, but not majestic. And by the way just pay the damn suscription , you wouldn't work for free, they dont too.

    This right here.

Same reason LiquidWeb stopped selling shared hosting and switched to dedicated servers being their flagship. If people spend more, they're not going to fuck you over as much. You'll attract a stronger and better-paying crowd, and cut your losses while lowering time spent answering dumbass questions in support.

They're aimed for companies and agencies mostly.

The cost is nothing compared to the value they're getting.
