I purchased a few fivver gigs that equal to about 200 social bookmarks, and a few thousand forum profiles. I then did a few hundred comments myself using scrapebox, this was all about a month ago.

Until now, my site only shows I have 14 backlinks, and most of this is as a link from another website i own.

any reason for this?

Google hasn't found them yet? They don't always find them unless you ping them.

Google counts a lot of links and tends not to tell webmasters. My estimate is that you only will ever see 10% of your backlinks indexed (if your lucky). Don't sweat it, just keep building.

Ya I have noticed this, I keep building links like crazy and they wont move...infact they are going down...what the hell is going on?

Bulk ping them and or use Scrapebox to blast the links to get them found faster.

I think you have to submit your site to google. If you submit then google will find your site on web count your backlinks.

I have also checked and to be honest I see genuine organic backlinks from sites I don't even know or never heard of in webmaster tools. So, Google likes and counts organic backlinks a lot more. On the other hand, manually created links are not indexed even a week later whereas organic links seem to be indexed the same day or sometimes within hours. So, that also differs due to the kind of link and in case of blasts, hardly any of them gets indexed soon and even after pushing it gets indexed after several weeks at times. To be honest, build quality too and my sites with organic backlinks due to quality content never seems to face any problem irrespective of any Panda updates or anything else. The only other factor which affects is updates. I have some sites which have not been updated for around 2 years or more and they also lost ranking, traffic as well as PR. So, quality and useful content seems to have been the ultimate magnet which attracts everything else on it's own. But then it might not be the right ploy for IM sites but only works in Adsense sites. For IM sites, I am going to try mix of everything including WH and GH in a few parallel campaigns.

You need to using the right tools.. Head over to Open Site Explorer and type in your URL - remember that OSE updates once a month, so if your site is 3 days old, it will not have indexed your backlinks yet. Try doing a site search in Google also using site: before your URL to see how many of your pages are indexed, because if you're not getting the pages indexed, then that's the place to start. Do the usual bits like get your site in w.master tools, submit a site map, pop across a couple of social bookmarks to get a few more pages indexed. Don't rush, don't copy. Ciao.
