No Cpannel
Little support
lol... Its a cloud hosting company. Does amazon ec2 includes a cpanel too?
Their prices don't include support and any additional software (like cpanel) or/and service. Only hardware resources
That is the whole point, they are meant to be used by developers. KEYWORD

EVELOPER
When you first setup a droplet they email you your ssh credentials(username:root, password for root). So that removes 99% of all bhw'ers here since am sure most people here don't really work from ssh but from cpanel.
On top of that, they already have a docker image ready. THAT ALONE MAKES THEM AWESOME!!! I LOVE DOCKER
So if you think about it, this is meant to be used by people that knows their shit. Its for python/ruby/java developers even for very smart php developers.
Just look at what their articles are all about, it is all about how to setup very technical stuff. It is all meant to be used by developers.
Why do you think they don't offer support? Actually they do , when I signed up their shit was all fucked up and it took like 55 mins to setup my droplet. It turned out that they were experiencing some scheduling problems, so at first I thought they were full of shit because every single blog I read they all say they were the shit and cheap.
However, after they fixed that I have to be honest, their speed and their vps performance is fucking top line for its price.
Right now am heavily using them for developing , and I am using docker.
What I recommend is that if you are going to be fucking with a lot of ssh connections
Set this up , http://liftoffsoftware.com/Products/GateOne, its an html5 ssh multi client. I pretty much have atleast 2-3 machines I use at the time, and when I run docker am running a bunch of different containers. So add another 2-3 ssh connections per machine for each container running in it.
To summarize my post, DigitalOcean is for developers not for everyone else, if you aren't willing to get your hands dirty and setup your own software on your own machine then don't get them.
