How can you use programming knowledge to make money from home that's not freelancing?

I literally asked myself the same shit today when i was going back to teach myself more javascript. I don't wanna learn another language then forget like a month later the syntax. But I use HTML and PHP for Affiliate Marketing and sometimes Python. Gonna use JQuery/JavaScript for my website soon.
 
You don't necessarily have to code bots.

It's risky, but you can start a startup from your own home. Just have a good idea, work on it, and if you are lucky and work hard, you might have a solid passive income with that startup and who knows? You might even become rich.
 
The possibilities are pretty endless. You've got the obvious programming services or tool to sell access/downloads. Then, of course, bots, which you mentioned. I always included my scraping in that category. Turning scraped data into API's is a hobby I tinker with, but never attempted to monetize. Data sells. I personally dropship, and I have python scripts automating ordering, customer relations (i.e. after sale emails), market research, starting and stopping listings, etc. Out of all the methods I've played with, dropshipping is by far the most programming centric venture so far. Either way, I'm yet to encounter any method here where I didn't code something to do part of it. It's not really that the programming knowledge will make you money, unless you're programming something like a SaS, bots or public API. Rather it's the knowledge helping you make money regardless of what it is that you're doing.
 
There is a misconception. Nobody (but researchers) earn money building bots. Bots are a way to achieve something but bots alone are not good to profit. Even those guys that sell bot on BHW are not really earning a lot of money but spare change.

Bots work in tandem with a white/black hat technique.

For example, let's say you spend a couple of months working on a bot and you finish it (and it works). So then what?. If you survey some bots sold on BHW, then some "successful" seller are sold around 100 or 200 (there are some exception but the numbers are really thin). Now, let's say 100 x $20 per bot (some bot could cost a lot but it is for an expert) = $2000 USD per two months of work, or $1000 USD per month. It is crap of money,
there is a lot of ways to earn better money programming).

Now, designing a proper bot takes more than a couple of months. There is a difference between a lousy automate script (that everybody could do) and a proper bot and is the research of a vulnerability.
 
- Build Games
- Build APIs
- You can create your own ideas and make software for disabled individuals.
 
I am studying Computer Science and I have the same question. While I discover how to make money without selling code, I learn how to develop websites

$20 per bot!!!! Where do you get your tools from? DHG is $1200 *a year*, scrapebox is like $100 + paid addons, most seo tools are in the $50-200 per month range.

A good bot makes waay more than "spare change".
 
Customer don't give a shit about your stack or what language your site is written in. They pay you because you're giving them something valuable. Programming and languages are just tools. You need to apply those tools to build something that delivers value.
 
I am into python coding now. Beginner stage. So want to more know about learning ways by programming. But as people says not easy to earn unless what we do with that data.

Learning Python or using Ubot Studio is the EASY part ok.. The hard part is getting an idea to solve peoples problems online in an automated way. A unique idea can net you 6-7 figures in a VERY short time.. not copying others done already ideas. E.g.. If you build an IG bot so it like before the updates and IG can do nothing about your bot (SaaS).. You will retire VERY SOON.. and leave all the support to cheap VA's :)
 
I think that programming must be more hobby then thoughts on monetization. It is not optional to earn money doing projects. Programming can help you in your main work, for example, solving routine tasks and saving time. Saved time is also part of the earnings ;)
 
Some people make money coding Alexa voice plugins. There's a long tail there, but it's like any other marketing challenge. Done right, you can get some good data and turn that into a secondary line of business.

Knowledge is a key to this world, I asked myself the same question a couple of weeks ago, and recently I just opened a thread to document my experiences with my first website. On a technical level I am using almost everything I know. And that's what I recommend, you can start any project you can think of.
 
Definitely. Until a month ago I was goldfarming a game, stopped because they evolved their detection system and I was tired of the cat-mouse game. Also lots venezuelans hand farming ruined the gold price.
