Hey guys! Im just wandering about it, coz with a program like butt-erfly mar-keting script, etc. you could easily create great websites, which you could sell for a nice profit.
Have any of you done it before, or planning?

I wouldn't see where it would be a problem as long as the site didn't need the script to operate.

The script have to operate, because the site has been builded on the script's system.

Only if you have reseller rights then, otherwise you could get in to trouble from both BM and the buyers.

yeah, the buyer will request the license to script in order to keep up with the upcoming updates and so on. If the website does not require the script to operates, then you are good to go.

Okay, maybe there is a way to sell it: if we tell the buyer about the missing license and he agree... Im just thinking loud here...

If you sold it as a service to people that are not savvy you could probably get away with it. Do the 'hard' work for them.

I would not do it.

If the buyer finds out later he might contact the payment processor (paypal or other) to cancel the sale and get a refund because of fraud.

But if the script is not expensive, assuming that the sales price of the website you are selling is high enough, I would simply buy a single license of that "stolen script" and give it to the new owner.

my 2cents opinion

i sell redesigned websites running open source scripts and bootleg scripts all the time and haven't gotten into any trouble yet. if you offer support to your clients, you shouldn't run into any problems. the challenge i see is that you will not get updates for the script if it is bootleg. but hey, get the updates the same way you got the original. if it is not encrypted with ion cube technology or something similar, you should be fine.:)
