But it doesn't make sense.

Hidemyass has many countries. How can blocking this work?

I have a subscription to HMA proxies. I get the in my email daily. I see very many proxies in my inbox that fall outside those ranges. Perhaps they could block most of the IP? But not all for sure. It may be that they run their VPN with those ranges... Not proxies though.

Here is the thing. HMA has so many countries. India, Malaysia, Singapore, Brazil, German, etc. The IPs must differ by a LOT

How in the earth blocking those small blocks of IP can block HMA. It doesn't make sense.

That's what I am saying. I believe the information you received is either false, or only true for a certain service. I can tell you, most proxies I get from HMA are outside of that range.

Because HideMyAss does not hide their hostname. So its really easy to tell if an IP address is a datacenter or residential IP. If you chek the hostname for any HMA IP it says "Hide My Ass" as the hostname, which is a bit of a giveaway to anyone who wants to block them.

Just out of curiosity I got the host names of these IP which are proxies delivered to my by MHA

It seems that none of them resolve to a HMA name. I would say for sure that you are talking about their VPN or other service. I only really care about the proxies.

HMA gives public proxies. Those doesn't have hostname.
