Update your site regularly with high-quality unique articles, target long tail keywords, Use social medias to promote your sites, Make your site mobile friendly, Optimize your title and meta tags, fix broken links, and build high-quality PBN links, guest posts etc.

By this analysis you would get an idea on how to increase the rankings?
Firstly you concentrate on the social networks to increase your traffic after that quality backlinks and Perfect On page methods would help you to increase your rankings.
After that comment on other blogs with your site link to make some new connections(views/visitors)
And make use of Linkedin - try to post the articles frequently you get good results.
Do some keyword research for competitive kws and you may try Long tail keywords too.
You have to balance both the On page methods and Off page methods.

The only way anyone can suggest you is after analyzing the current situation of the website or blog. All other suggestions will be lame until your website you don't know where your website actually stands. A new website may rank up easily sometimes then old one.

first pick your keywords which are suits for your site and do back links from High authority sites, Good quality PBN's , Real Traffic Guest posts AND do some tier 2 links from web 2.0 and from other seo backlinks tools (manually or automatically) .
