More of a startup question. It's pretty tough so I imagine it will get zero responses. How do we sort good ideas from bad?
Can we call society's opinion a fair judgement of an idea? As in, if most people think the idea is good, does that mean it's good?
Which groups of people would you ask? Would you ask a forum in your targeted market, say college students? If they respond in a certain what, does that mean it's a good/bad idea?
Would you ask a group of fellow startup cofounders? Should you be worried about them running with your idea, since they actually have the power to execute it?
The only judgement I've come down to so far is: if I want to use it just as bad as I want to create it, then it should be worth pursuing. However, when that's all said and done, I still have 5 or 6 ideas on the desk. I try to build minimal viable products, but it's still risky to spread yourself that thin when all your brain power and growth hacking should be on 1 idea to make sure of maximum execution.
Any thoughts?
