I have a question for the experts. I am promoting a product that we will call "ABC"

I registered a very similar domain name but using a different domain extension. I set my similar domain name to redirect to the original product. I have not actually promoted this product even once, but to my surpise I made $90 in sales today from Google indexing my site. I discovered it is currently on the first page of Google for when people search the original product name due to the similarities, but different domain extension.

Having said that, I would like to maximize this. I want to keep the redirect but I would like to still use SEO to drive traffic to it. Since I intend to keep the redirect, I need a way to still write content. If I set up a Wordpress blog and rank other pages on the website while keeping the index page as a redirect, will this do anything to make my ranking stronger?

Thank you for the tips on how I can accomplish this.

Just setup website on that domain or create multiple redirect links for other domain you want and keep doing seo of that domain.

Right now there is no content. It's just a redirect. If I write content using the same domain name, will that content eventually outrank the redirect? I want my redirect domain to pop up using more keywords. It currently only comes up when the vendor's product name is Googled. I hope I am making sense and thanks so much for helping.

I'm afraid that if I take the redirect away and make the index page actual content that I will lose what is currently making me sales. People Google the vendors product, my website comes up with a different extension and redirects back to the vendor.

I would not touch the redirect. After sometime google algorithm will realize the domain it´s empty and it will temporary de-index it .

When this happens, then erase the hop link or point the domain to a similar product in the niche. Then wait for a week or so and link back to the product that is making you real sales.

You can always crate a page within your wordpress blog and use a creative redirect style plugin and easily make use of the fact it can easily be loop around what you are trying to do.

Did you created your landing page on your own or buy it from some services?
