And are there any browsers that are better or worse for this?

Pretty much every browser is the same (except for Tor bundle may be, which does many security related stuffs by default.)..

Make sure that:
Your proxy does not leak your real IP in the headers (google "am I behind a proxy" while using the proxy).
Your proxy isn't a datacenter proxy, which tends to get banned fast.
Make sure there's no WebRTC leak on your browser (google "webRTC leak checker").

That should do it.

disabling WebRTC on your browser or installing a browser plugin that blocks it. The Chrome, Firefox, and Opera browsers operate with WebRTC active, or enabled, by default, Safari and Internet Explorer do not

As long as you have disabled WebRTC, you delete the browser history when you close it (there's a firefox function that deletes everything when you close the browser window), you change your system's locale into the locale of the proxy location (this is at a system level, but it's always recommended to change it) and you make sure your requests DNS queries are handled by the proxy server's DNS you shouldn't have any problems.

I highly recommend you use Browser Automation Studio for simple stuff. It's free and handles all fingerprinting and leaks for you.

I think they have a thread around here.

yeah try to mess with Instagram/Google/YouTube with BAS and see how good that shit is. insta banned

Of course, when you don't know what you're doing :)
I bet you can pass google recaptcha, datadome and distil network easily with your immense BAS knowledge and bad fingerprints. Or maybe it's just pure amateur shit

firefox, private proxy, disable webRTC, spoof timezone to IP, works well for me.
The more people that are anonymous browsers the better, its actually growing in popularity.
