Hello,

I have questions about starting video streaming website and where we can start, I searched about video hosting there is a lot of details we want to start with snapencode.com as selfhosted solution with spurt cms and hosting videos on R2 or B2 also thinking about bunny

The questions does B2/R2 can detected that video not licensed even if we used drm ?
If anyone know more about license how much cost, is cost per movies and tv show ? All license required a enterprise drm or not.

Thank you

You can post this in the "Hire a Freelancer" section and make a thread there. There may be someone who has experience on this and they may be able to help you out.

Starting a streaming site is tricky since licensing is the biggest hurdle. Storage like R2 or B2 won’t usually check your content, but if you host copyrighted material without proper rights you risk takedowns or worse.

Licensing depends on what you want to stream – studios charge per title or through deals with distributors, and costs can get very high. DRM is just protection, it doesn’t replace licensing. If you’re serious, it’s best to consult a distributor or lawyer before moving forward.

Starting a streaming site is tough mainly because of licensing-storage won’t usually check, but hosting copyrighted content without rights risks takedowns.

B2/R2 don’t check if your videos are licensed; they’re just storage/CDN, but copyright holders can issue takedowns if content isn’t licensed.
Licensing costs vary by movie/TV show (usually per title or catalog deal) and DRM is often required by studios but not always for independent content.

B2/R2 and Bunny can still get takedown notices, DRM won’t protect against copyright. Movies and TV shows need proper licenses, usually expensive and only given to bigger companies.
