How can I Self-study graphic design?

Get used to the program you want to learn. Learn what every tool does, the manual can help you here, as will various forums.
Be patient as this isn't something you learn in a short timespan. Watch a shitload of tutorials on Youtube.

Google "tuts +" (can't post the link since i'm a newbie) but it's a great resource with step by step instructions so you can remake it and learn the program. I'd advice to this prior to watching Youtube video's. Don't give up, when you think it's hard or you're making slow progress. Speed comes with experience and insight how to tackle a challenge ;-)

what you need is internet and youtube basically, if you begin by watching design tutorials you will find your place eventually. note make sure you learn small task and effects before the complex

I learn the software from youtube for the first time, and then tutsplus. I'm trying to follow the guide to make something in illustrator, and learnt much tools in the software. And if you want the basic of graphic design, and not the software, you can learn from lynda.
