Get used to the program you want to learn. Learn what every tool does, the manual can help you here, as will various forums.
Be patient as this isn't something you learn in a short timespan. Watch a shitload of tutorials on Youtube.
Google "tuts +" (can't post the link since i'm a newbie) but it's a great resource with step by step instructions so you can remake it and learn the program. I'd advice to this prior to watching Youtube video's. Don't give up, when you think it's hard or you're making slow progress. Speed comes with experience and insight how to tackle a challenge ;-)
