how can i remove the footer links?

There is another string of code within another PHP file calling on the footer, in the sense that it cannot grab it, the template will crash.
This is due to the maker wanting their free template to advertise their business.
If you go through the .php files and press CTRL+F to open the find box, and type in "footer," you'll likely come across the code.
If you don't understand what the code means, save the original code in notepad, remove the string of code you may think is the culprit, and refresh your site. If the footer is gone, you're good to go. If nothing happened, or the site looks messed up, paste the original source code back into the PHP file and save.

Yes i know, but i dont see any code in there that would be causing this, even after searching for 'footer' in the code.
Can anyone take a look at it?

this is what you do
open index.php
look for this :
PHP Code: <?php get_footer(); ?> add a comment above and below it so this is what you get
HTML Code: <!-- start footer --> <?php get_footer(); ?> <!-- end footer --> save and go to your blog
view source
find the comments
copy EVERYTHING between your start and end comments
delete your footer.php
create a new footer.php and replace the code with everything that was between your comments.
edit to suit yourself, remove links etc and save.
then click thanks to the right of this post ;-)

post the contents of the footer_content.php file, maybe what you're looking for is in it since includes it.
Being that the footer was encrypted it is likely that the code that breaks the template if the footer is not intact is encrypted also. However way the footer was encrypted try to look for that same encryption. IE if it was "base64" the search for "base64" in other file or maybe "decode", etc..

Thanks bzy I may do that, but what should i do if i want to edit the footer instead of removing the whole footer

sorry, i mean is to remove the link in footer, not the whole footer
