newbie alert i am curious how can a hosting bill get up to 3000, is it video streaming of multiply pages?

Check some offers with good comments on web hosting talk. Someone mentioned stablehost, I also use them and they're ok.
First thing is to monitor your bandwidth usage and how many domains do you have. Your hostgator account is probably an overkill.

Dedicated server, so perhaps not a fair comparison I recently upgrade from a VPS due to stability issues, and managed to score a really good deal on a dedicated box. It's not just for my own sites though, I sell hosting to my clients.
