how can i reduce bounce rate?

1. block referral spam via htaccess
2. Make sure your navigation/layout is on point....it's a news site...you should have no problem getting visitors to click on other news stories if your layout is good. Ex: categories that are easy to find/navigate...related posts under each story...
3. Make sure the quality of your stories are good...if you are just scraping shit and tossing it up they will bounce. Good articles with lots of images...if a site looks like crap people will leave.
There are thousands of news sites...you need something special and unique if you want people to stick around, let alone ever revisit.

Many said the secret earlier. Use related posts plugin if you are using cms like wordpress. My site had a bounce rate of 80s and after installing related posts plugin it dropped to like 50s. I use related posts widget right below the post and in sidebar. It has interesting images though.

Backjacker is fine with affiliate marketing but he will get banned if he use this with adsense.

If it's a Wordpress site you can just use WP Zero Bounce which works amazingly well, but some may frown on it's use. It works though.
