always focus on high value engagement in popular subreddits like r/Askreddit, r/funny and r/pics. Try to comment on new posts in big subs and post interesting content that fits the subreddit. Do funny, helpful, or insightful in comment as soon as a new post goes up. Be active on reddit regularly.

You’ll either need to actually make an effort to post stuff that people will like or find helpfull or if you have the infrastructure you could set up a botnet/farm and boost your own score that way.
I do find posting in meme related subs often is a pretty easy way to farm upvotes/karma organically.
