How can I put a PC to work to generate money?

Hi everyone! I hope you're doing well.
I currently have a PC that I don't use because I have a better one for work. My question is: is there an effective way to keep the PC running and generate some kind of income? Whether by mining, renting it out, or something similar? Also, if anyone knows whether it's actually worth keeping it on—or if it's simply not—please let me know.

The components are:
- AMD Ryzen 7 5800X 8-Core Processor
- NVIDIA RTX 4070 SUPER 12GB
- 64 GB RAM

With those specs, I wouldn't jump into mining unless I've already checked the electricity costs, since that's usually what determines whether it's worthwhile. If I were you, I'd look into renting out the GPU for AI or rendering workloads instead it often has better earning potential than mining. Just compare the expected income against your power bill before leaving the PC running 24/7.
 
Use it to support an active business.
Mining - that train is long gone now.

One thing you can do is learn how to host gaming servers on your PC. For Minecraft, Rust. These are some popular games. Your Ryzen 5800X is well suited for this.

There are platforms where you can list your machine's resources. Look for those.
 
I would run an AI workflow with local agents, so I don't need to spend on tokens.
 
I'd personally use it as a local/personal AI server. You'll never run into usage caps for 24/7automation, and it won't bog down your current PC.

It won't be a magic money printer, but it'll certainly save time and money that you'd otherwise be spending.
 
You can earn money by offering freelance services, creating digital content, or running an online business from your PC.
 
Change this mindset...there are several scammers around promising this kind of ''money printer'', ''passive income'', ''instal this shit on your pc and let us control it, we pay $3000 for you'' and other nonsense, you will fall for it if you keep this mindset, life is not a videogame with glitches, cheat codes and money printers
 
The pc is not special to be honest ..... many peoples have similar spec computers and is no way everyone can generate passive income with such setup. Mining may work but not now and this setup is not very effective as well for electricity ...... To be honest you can do some video editing with this setup or other service based where it require powerfull specs or setup a server on it but all of those will require active management like selling and customer support

That's about right looks ready to collapse Right about...NOW! Nah, but seriously. Haven't you seen the rampant job lay offs? There are still jobs...For now. But not everyone is as confident in the future as you are?
 
Man, with ai, you should build a business based on your skills and do it full time (or part time if you have another job). This is by far the best option nowadays, even more when it takes a skill you already own.

The future is uncertain bro.I work a offline job and doing IM as my side hustle on my off days .I'm both employed and self employed

Well the Japanese government thinks robots can solve their elderly care problem. So they cant all be that expensive. But then again it is a rich nation in the general scheme of things.
